To address this issue, the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique (MRBAB), engaged Luxembourg-based sensing specialist IEE to install the People Counter, an innovative occupancy monitoring and analysis solution, in the Musée Magritte Museum in Brussels.

Luxembourg-based sensing specialist IEE will hold live demonstrations of its Tailgate Detector TDflex, People Counter and Volumetric Object Surveillor at this year’s IFSEC, which is taking place in Birmingham from 16-19 May (IEE booth: 4/B150). The enhanced design housing of the People Counter as well as a premiering demo of the Volumetric Object Surveillor will be presented at the IFSEC for the first time ever. Visitors can also participate in a demo of the Tailgate Detector TDflex, an access control solution that has been awarded several prizes over the past year due to its innovative features. TDflex is also one of the finalists in this year’s IFSEC Security Industry Award for Access Control Product of the Year.

Sensing specialist IEE was honored with the Best Access Control Product Award for its Tailgate Detector TDflex, an innovative access control solution based on 3D technology, at ISC West on Wednesday. The New Product Showcase (NPS), sponsored by the Security Industry Association (SIA), is held annually in conjunction with ISC West in Las Vegas to recognize the best security product innovations. TDflex was selected from a group of nine access control product representing some of the best new products introduced over the past year. The judges were particularly impressed by the uniqueness and reliability of the anti-tailgating features offered by the system, as well as the customizable nature of the detection strategy settings.

IEE has won the Fedil Innovation Prize in the category Business Development for its Tailgate Detector, an innovative access control solution based on 3D sensing technology. The Business Federation Luxembourg Fedil issued the award at a ceremony held on Wednesday Nov 24th, 2010 at the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg, and which took place in the presence of Mr. Jeannot Krecké, Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade. The award was segmented into one first prize and five special categories: Business Development, Startup, Product Design, SME and Industrial Development. IEE’s Tailgate Detector won the Business Development Innovation Prize as the solution fills an existing market need by providing an additional security layer to access control systems.

Luxembourg-based sensing specialist IEE has won the GSN Homeland Security Award for its Tailgate Detector, an innovative access control solution based on 3D technology. The award was issued by Government Security News (GSN), a leading US industry publication featuring content concerning physical, IT and homeland security. IEE’s Tailgate Detector won for Best Physical Security Authentication/Identification System, in the category Vendors of Physical Security Products and Solutions.

Sensing specialist IEE will present its innovative access control solutions, the award winning Tailgate Detector and People Counter, at the ASIS security show this October (booth 4146). The Tailgate Detector works with security systems by intercepting the signal emitted from the ID reader (badge system, RFID, biometrics) and determining the status of the access point (open or closed). The sensor then establishes whether a single individual is attempting entry, and in the event of dual or unauthorized entry, triggers an alarm or locks the door. The People Counter, also based on 3D MLI SensorTM technology, provides real-time data on the number of people moving through a specific detection area, and can be used for wrong way detection, bidirectional counting, wait-time determination and queue management applications.
